Junk Removal in Murrieta, CA
From Bear Creek to the Hot Springs, BullDawgs hauls junk all over Murrieta from our home base next door in Menifee. Garage cleanouts and green waste are the calls we get most here, and we run same-day jobs almost every day.
How Murrieta works
Trash service is mandatory. Bulky pickup is limited.
Murrieta requires every property to have trash service. You either subscribe to Waste Management, the city's franchise hauler, or you get a city self-haul permit and prove all year that you're disposing of your waste legally. WM service includes two free bulky item pickups a year, with a size and amount limit.
Two pickups go fast in a house with a full garage and a yard to keep up with. When they're used up, when the job is bigger than the limit, or when you're on a self-haul permit and don't get bulky pickup at all, that's the work we do.
What we haul in Murrieta
Garages first, then the yard
Garage cleanouts are probably our most common Murrieta job. Old boxes full of household odds and ends, broken furniture, treadmills, and everything that went into storage years ago and never came back out. Couches and desks round out most loads.
Murrieta sends us more cardboard and green waste than Temecula does, plus a steady run of yard debris. And carpet removal comes up more here than anywhere else we work. It goes out of the house and into the truck in the same visit.
Some Murrieta streets are narrow, with tight parking. We park in the driveway whenever we can, keep an eye out for street-sweeping days, and run a dump truck instead of a pickup and trailer because it's easier to maneuver, takes up less room and gets in and out faster. Before we leave, we walk the property for the nails, screws and small pieces a cleanout can leave behind.
- Garage cleanouts
- Couches and desks
- Boxes and cardboard
- Treadmills
- Green waste and yard debris
- Carpet
We make sure to walk the area afterward because attention to detail matters in these neighborhoods.
Neighborhoods we work in
All over Murrieta
Murrieta runs from established tract neighborhoods to gated golf and hillside enclaves, and we work in all of them.
Bear Creek
A gated golf community with larger homes. Put us on the guest list when you book and we'll handle the rest.
Greer Ranch
Hillside homes on bigger lots, where yard debris and green waste come up a lot.
Copper Canyon
A family neighborhood where the full-garage cleanout is the classic Murrieta call.
Murrieta Hot Springs
Older properties around the historic hot springs, with garages and sheds that have been filling up for years.
California Oaks
One of Murrieta's established tract neighborhoods. Same crew, driveway-first parking, and a walk of the property before we leave.
Murrieta bulky item pickup
What the city pickup covers, and where it stops
Murrieta contracts with Waste Management for residential trash, recycling and organics, and the city has made that service mandatory. Residents on WM service get two free bulky item pickups a year. The city notes there's a size and amount limit, so check with WM at (866) 909-4458 before you drag a full garage to the curb.
What it covers
- Two free bulky item pickups a year for WM customers
- Household bulky items, within WM's size and amount limit
- Occasional free drop-off events the city runs with WM
Where it stops
- Properties on a self-haul permit aren't eligible for bulky pickup at all
- The city's drop-off events have listed commercial and remodeling waste as not accepted
- Anything over WM's size or amount limit for a pickup
The self-haul permit is the one that catches people. It costs $89.08 a year, per the city's Self-Haul program page (the city says the fee is subject to change), and it lets you skip WM service. But the city is clear that self-haul properties can't use bulky item pickup. If that's you, we're the simplest way to get a couch, a fridge or a garage full of boxes gone without borrowing a trailer.
Even with pickups left, timing is the sticking point. Some customers come to us after a scheduled pickup day passed with everything still at the curb, and they don't want to start the booking over. We'd rather just come get it.
Where it goes
Donated, recycled, then disposed
Murrieta's own landfill list points residents to El Sobrante in Corona, Badlands in Moreno Valley and Lamb Canyon in Beaumont. We skip the Corona run. With traffic and the wait at the landfill, it can turn into a two- to three-hour round trip. Our main disposal facility is CR&R, where a dump run usually takes about an hour. It costs us more to dump there, and it's worth it to show up on time for the next customer.
Before a load goes anywhere, we pull out what can be reused or recycled, somewhere around 30 to 40 percent of a typical job. Scrap metal heads to AIM Recycling in Perris, and furniture that still has life in it goes to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Temecula.

Most smaller jobs are pretty quick. We pull up, load everything, clean the area, and we're gone.

Honest price, no pressure
One day we got a call from a man in Murrieta who was furious. Another junk removal company had quoted him a price that was way out of line.
When we got there, he was guarded. He thought we were going to take advantage of him. So I explained how we work: we look at the job, we give you an honest price, and there's no pressure at all.
That changed everything. He put his guard down, apologized for being so defensive and saw where our hearts were. We looked over the job, gave him the price, and he said yes on the spot, because the number was honest and nobody was pushing him.
Afterward he left us a review on Google and gave us a hug.
“We're just here to help.”
Murrieta FAQ
Junk removal in Murrieta: common questions
How fast can you get to Murrieta?
Usually within one to three hours. Same-day is part of almost every day on our schedule, and Murrieta is right next door to our Menifee base, so call or text and we'll tell you what's open.
Do you give quotes from photos in Murrieta?
Usually not. We'd rather see it. We come over from Menifee, look at what's going with you and give you a free, no-pressure estimate in person. You hear the number before we start, and that's the number you pay. If you just want a ballpark first, use the load estimator on our pricing page.
Do you do carpet removal in Murrieta?
Yes, and we get more carpet calls in Murrieta than anywhere else we work. It comes out with the rest of the load in the same visit, priced by how much room it takes in the truck.
Will your truck fit on a narrow Murrieta street?
That's a big reason we run a dump truck instead of a truck and trailer: it's easier to maneuver and takes up less space. We park in the driveway whenever we can, watch for street-sweeping days, and walk the property for nails and small debris before we leave.
Is trash service mandatory in Murrieta?
Yes. The city has implemented mandatory trash service with its franchise hauler, Waste Management. The only alternative is a city-issued self-haul permit, which requires proof of legal disposal throughout the year.
How many free bulky item pickups do Murrieta residents get?
Two a year for residents on Waste Management service, according to the city, and there's a size and amount limit. Call WM at (866) 909-4458 to schedule. For anything past that, call us.
I have a self-haul permit. Can I still use bulky item pickup?
No. The city says properties with a self-haul permit are not eligible for bulky item pickup or curbside used oil recycling, because those services are funded through WM service fees. We can haul your bulky items instead, priced by how much room they take in the truck.
Can you get into Bear Creek and other gated neighborhoods?
Yes. Give us the gate instructions when you book, or add us to your guest list, and we'll show up ready. You don't need to be standing at the gate.
