Junk Removal in Canyon Lake, CA

Canyon Lake is one of the strictest gated communities we work in, so we plan every job around it: the right gate, ID at the gate, the community's commercial access hours, and a truck that handles steep driveways. We're based next door in Menifee.

Gate access

Getting a junk crew through the gate

Canyon Lake is a privately gated community, and the Property Owners Association sets the rules for who comes in and where. Our trucks are commercial vehicles, so they don't use the Main Gate off Railroad Canyon Rd. We come in through the East Gate off Goetz Rd or the North Gate off Greenwald Ave, and the crew shows a valid driver's license at the gate.

Commercial access also has its own hours and rules. We confirm the current rules before every Canyon Lake job and schedule your pickup inside them, so you're not waiting on a truck that can't get in. You can save everyone time by registering BullDawgs in GoAccess, the POA's visitor management platform, before the day of the job.

On your street

Steep driveways, narrow streets, nothing left behind

Some Canyon Lake driveways are extremely steep, and some of the streets are narrow. That's a big reason we run a dump truck instead of a pickup and trailer. It's easier to maneuver, takes up less room, and gets in and out of a tight property a lot faster.

We're careful about where we park, how long we're there and what we leave behind. You won't have equipment sitting in front of the house all day. We load from wherever the junk sits, sweep up, check the driveway for small debris and go.

The job itself is whatever you've got: furniture, appliances, boxes, yard debris, or a shed or swing set that needs to come down. Same crew and same pricing as everywhere else we work: by how much room it takes in the truck.

Some of the driveways are extremely steep, and the streets can be narrow. This is another reason our dump truck works so well.

Canyon Lake bulky item pickup

What the city pickup covers, and where it stops

CR&R collects Canyon Lake's trash, and under the city's rules every residential customer is entitled to two bulky item pickups a year at no charge. More than that and each one costs a nominal fee. They run on your regular collection day; book through CR&R at (951) 943-1991.

The city defines a bulky item as something too big for your automated carts, like a chair or a couch, that a two-person crew can handle, such as a washer or a dryer.

What it covers

  • Two free bulky item pickups per calendar year
  • Items too big for your carts, like a chair or a couch
  • Washers, dryers and other large items a two-person crew can handle

Where it stops

  • It runs on your regular collection day, not the day you call
  • Past two pickups a year, each extra one carries a charge
  • Anything more than a two-person crew can handle

Customers tell us lining up a city bulky pickup takes time, and once in a while the day comes and goes with the item still out front. In a community as particular as Canyon Lake, nobody wants a couch parked in the driveway for another week.

That's where we come in. Call or text, tell us what's going, and we'll fit the job inside the gate rules and commercial access hours. Same-day happens when the schedule and the gate both allow it.

Where it goes

Donated, recycled, then disposed

The East Gate opens onto Goetz Rd, and the closest county-listed transfer station sits on that same road in Perris. What can't be reused goes to CR&R, the same company that collects Canyon Lake's trash.

Before that, we sort. Somewhere around 30 to 40 percent of what we haul is donated or recycled. Good furniture and household goods usually go to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Temecula, and scrap metal to AIM Recycling in Perris.

Closest transfer station: Perris Transfer Station (CR&R) · 1706 Goetz Rd, Perris

Overall, a lot of these HOA communities prefer quick, clean, and professional service without a bunch of equipment sitting outside all day.

Canyon Lake FAQ

Junk removal in Canyon Lake: common questions

Which gate does your junk removal truck use in Canyon Lake?

We always use the East Gate off Goetz Rd or the North Gate off Greenwald Ave. The POA sends every commercial, oversize and recreational vehicle through those two, so the Main Gate on Railroad Canyon Rd is off limits for our trucks.

What does your crew need to get through the gate?

Our crew shows a valid driver's license at the gate. Registering BullDawgs in GoAccess, the POA's visitor management platform, before the job helps avoid a hold-up.

Are there hours when junk removal can happen in Canyon Lake?

Commercial access has its own hours and rules. We confirm the current rules before each job and schedule your pickup inside them.

Can your truck handle a steep driveway?

That's one of the reasons we run a dump truck instead of a truck and trailer. It maneuvers better on steep driveways and narrow streets, takes up less space, and gets in and out faster.

Does CR&R pick up bulky items in Canyon Lake?

Yes. The city says residents get two free bulky item pickups a year from CR&R, on their regular collection day, and extra ones cost a nominal fee. For anything faster, bigger or heavier than that, call us.

Should I rent a dumpster instead?

If you're doing the work yourself over a day or two, our 18-yard dumpster is the better fit, and the gate process is the same. If you'd rather point at the pile and have us load it, book junk removal.
